14 weeks.. Hello Second trimester!!

They say you are supposed to feel the best during the second trimester of your pregnancy. When I was pregnant with Savannah, I felt good- for the most part. Of course, closer to the end of the pregnancy that wasn't the case...but I was huge and put on 50+ pounds... what did I think was going to happen?!  This pregnancy hasn't been bad so far. Depending on the day I've only put on 1 pound. I had more "morning sickness" this time between 3pm-6pm but thats been it. So, all in all, things are good. Hopefully I'll feel the best during this trimester, with lots of energy! I will need as much energy as I can while we make our trip home this summer!!

Went to my 12 week check up a few weeks ago, all was well. Baby is measuring a full week ahead of schedule. First screening for Downs looked good. Happy Doctor = Happy Baby = Happy Parents! Next appointment isn't until the end of the month. We bought a doppler to listen to the babys heartbeat at home. We played around with it tonight, first listening to all of our heartbeats first, then finding the babys heartbeat. It was pretty cool. I am hoping this is a way for Savannah to understand that there is a baby in there. And, we are hoping this helps ease her fears when we are at the OB/GYN appointments.

Baby Size: 4 inches (about the size of a lemon)

Developments: The baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck its thumb! Kidneys are producing urine. The body's growing faster than the head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, the arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of the body. (Legs still have some lengthening to do.)

Cravings: Likes-Pizza, fruit, kool-aid, PB & J sandwiches

Dislikes-Meat

Weight Loss/Gain: None!!

Side Effects:
emotional (though I am sure Joe would still say the others listed at 12 weeks too)

What I really miss: fast food stuff from the States... Chipotle, BW3's, Mr. Hero... oh the list can go on forever! (this won't go away I'm sure)

What I really love: Is that when my belly grows Savannah thinks its the baby farting!
I've really enjoyed paint lately. I did this latest painting in 3 days. I think its my favorite.... but it may have something to do with the little girl...
Here is a new quick video of Vannah with her letter puzzle..
Another blog to come soon, hopefully with pictures of the house and our trips out while Uncle Frank was in town....
