At any rate, I was excited as I went through several isles to find certain things: Prego spaghetti sauce, syrup, tortillas, salsa, salad dressings, vanilla, marshmallows, pop tarts, certain candy bars, goldfish crackers, Dr. Pepper etc... oh and ground beef!!!
So excitedly I started putting "comfort items" in my cart...and then I realized I had to settle down. Took a deep breath and started paying more attention to prices (it was like Joe was in my head saying we are not paying 20usd for that!!) so I had to rationalize with myself of things that we really needed. I got some necessary items for certain "comfort meals" and several snack items for Savannah.
From there we went to the grocery store to get the rest of the items we needed. I've been trying to make rice. Now it's not as simple as back at home..1 cup rice, 2 cups water, cook for x minutes....yea not so much. It comes out a big mushy nasty mess let me tell ya! (Stone (our driver) was going to teach me one day and he explained I needed a rice cooker and that was my issue). So I attempted to find the best rice cooker at the store. I will experiment with that later tonight. We can always order Papa Johns or Pizza Hut (and they deliver!) if screw up dinner tonight! I was also going to get a crock pot to give me several other dinner options but was not happy with my choices. They were all very small and pretty expensive.
So we continued our shopping by heading to the produce/meat section. Savannah like the produce section because the fish tanks are right there. Of course, she has no clue that those fish will be on someone's plate for lunch/dinner! There are several turtles, crabs and frogs as well. I can see my kid being the one that buys the turtle to set it free.... So we get our produce and head to my favorite section (NOT!). I grab several packs of chicken breast and turn to the beef section.... A lady takes a huge frozen chunk-o-cow and slams it on the floor. I cringe as I watch her and then realize this block of meat just slammed against someone's foot!! This poor old man is clearly hurting, screaming in Chinese, hardly able to stand on his foot and this lady is laughing about it. She picked up the chunk she wanted (leaving the other chunk next to the little old mans foot) and walks away as nothing ever happened! I was just amazed!!

We get home and are emptying our grocery bags and the mail comes....packages!! I love getting mail!! Especially packages! 2 packages from Patrick and Sharyce packed with comfort items!! Yogurt melts for Savannah, cream of mushroom soup, ranch mix, EZ Mac, Clorox wipes, Kool-aid, dryer sheets, magazines and more!!! Savannah and I were super excited as we took each item out of the box!! Mason had his face right in the box too (he smelled the dryer sheets). Savannah wanted me to open the yogurt melts instantly! She loves those things!! We have boxes of them coming in the sea shipment....if we ever get the sea shipment! So once she was happy with her favorite snack, I went down to switch the laundry and use the dryer sheets (I don't think I've ever been that excited to do laundry!). And now it's time to relax with a glass of grape Kool-aid (my favorite kind Sharyce!) and an American magazine!!
Thank you Sharyce and Patrick for sending us packagages!!! Everything was very much appreciated!! Once we find some yummy snack stuff, we'll send you a Chinese care package! Love you guys!!

You are welcome! We miss you guys! I have another box started, so hopefully this week it will get out. Gonna try to mail it a different way though. Glad you found a store too!!
